Collagen, Built Gradually.
PLLA Biostimulator restores lost volume by prompting the skin to make its own collagen. It is made of tiny particles of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biocompatible, biodegradable material, mixed with sterile water just before treatment.
After injection into the deeper layers, the water is absorbed within days. The particles stay behind and signal fibroblasts, the cells that build collagen, to lay down new type I and type III collagen. The PLLA then breaks down naturally, while the new collagen stays to support the skin.
For hollow temples, flattened cheeks, deepening folds and softening jawlines, it replenishes structure from within.
Your journey begins with a consultation to assess your facial anatomy and where volume has been lost. Your doctor then maps each area, starting with a conservative correction. Numbing cream is applied for comfort, and your doctor will advise whether a local anaesthetic is also added to the product.
During the procedure:
Using a fine needle or cannula, small amounts of PLLA are placed evenly across the planned areas, such as the temples, cheeks, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, jawline and chin. The area is gently massaged as you go to spread the product smoothly. It is not used on the lips or under the eyes.
Treatment sensation:
Expect a sense of pressure with light pricks. Any tenderness afterwards usually eases within a day.
A session usually takes 20 to 30 minutes, depending on the areas treated.
Sessions needed: Typically 2-3 sessions, with 6-8 weeks between visits. Each visit lets your doctor see how your collagen is responding before adding more, so the plan is shaped around you.
Results Timeline: Treated areas look fuller at first, but this is swelling and water, and it settles within a few days. Visible change usually appears after about 4 to 6 weeks, then keeps building as collagen forms over about 6 months.
Maintenance: Results can last up to 2 years. Periodic top-up sessions, as advised by your doctor, help sustain the collagen you have built.

You can usually carry on with your day after treatment. Mild swelling, redness, tenderness or small bruises at the injection points are common and usually fade over a few days.
Aftercare tips:
- Massage the treated areas at home as your doctor shows you, to help the product settle evenly
- Apply a cold compress to ease swelling
- Avoid strenuous exercise, strong sun and extreme heat until any swelling has settled
- Follow the aftercare notes provided after your treatment
- Attend your follow-up review so your doctor can check your progress
