Keloid Injection
Shrink Keloids, Restore Confidence.
Keloids can feel like reminders your skin never asked for — raised, firm, sometimes itchy or uncomfortable scars that grow beyond their original wound. Whether they’re from a piercing, surgery, acne, or an injury, they often stick around far longer than we’d like.
Keloid steroid injections offer a focused, non-surgical way to flatten and fade these scars over time. It’s a calm and controlled treatment that helps reduce discomfort and improve how your skin looks and feels — restoring confidence along the way.
Your skin is first cleansed, and if needed, a numbing cream may be applied for comfort.
Using a very fine needle, a small amount of corticosteroid (triamcinolone) is injected directly into the keloid.
The steroid works by softening the scar tissue, reducing inflammation, and slowing down the overgrowth of collagen.
Treatment takes only a few minutes, with minimal discomfort.
Most keloids require a series of treatments, spaced 3–4 weeks apart.
On average, 3–6 sessions are recommended, depending on the size, age, and thickness of the keloid.
Improvements build over time — with the keloid gradually flattening, softening, and fading in colour.
For older or very stubborn keloids, more sessions may be needed.
There is little to no downtime. You may notice some redness or tenderness at the injection sites, which typically fades within a day or two.
Aftercare tips:
- Avoid rubbing, pressing, or applying strong active ingredients on the treated area for 48 hours
- SPF is essential — especially if the keloid is in a sun-exposed area — to prevent pigment changes as the scar fades
- Flatter, softer, and less prominent keloid scars
- Relief from itching, discomfort, or tightness associated with the scar
- A smoother, more even skin surface that blends more naturally with surrounding skin
Note: While keloids often improve significantly, complete removal is not always possible. The goal is reduction and long-term control.
Keloid injection is suitable for those who:
- Have raised keloid or hypertrophic scars that are growing, painful, itchy, or aesthetically concerning
- Are looking for a non-surgical way to improve the appearance and feel of their scars
